STEWARDSHIP IN ACTION
Opportunities for the ages
Help us forge a new era for America’s historic architecture, decorative arts, and landscapes.
FOR EMERGING PROFESSIONALS
William L. Thompson Collections Fellowship
The William L. Thompson Collections Fellowship for Emerging Museum Professionals and Graduate Students is a short-term residential fellowship supported by the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation designed for emerging museum professionals and graduate students interested in collections and material culture within historic house museums.
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
Jenrette Fellowship in Historic Preservation
The Jenrette Fellowship in Historic Preservation supports a graduate student in the Clemson University Graduate Program in Historic Preservation for two years of study. Jenrette Fellows are chosen on the basis of their academic excellence, demonstrated commitment to historic preservation, and promise as professionals of the future.
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
Jenrette Internships in Historic Preservation
The Jenrette Internships in Historic Preservation provide real-world experience to graduate students in Clemson University’s Graduate Program in Historic Preservation by matching their interests with ongoing projects sponsored by historic preservation organizations, including the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation. Previous interns have conducted research, performed conservation treatments on archaeological objects, learned about administration and programming, and completed preservation work on historic structures.
FOR EMERGING SCHOLARS
University of South Carolina Manning Papers Digitization
The Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation supports students’ work on university-based library or museum projects that align closely with its own mission, including the University of South Carolina Manning Papers Digitization initiative.
FOR EMERGING SCHOLARS
American College of the Building Arts Externship
Recognizing the ever-growing shortage of craftspeople in the historic trades, the Richard Hampton Jenrette Foundation supplements the funding provided to students at the American College of the Building Arts as they fulfill their required summer externships working with experts in their fields: timber framing, plastering, stone carving, historical carpentry, and ironwork, among others.
